333 West Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL
Project Description
Considered by many to be one of Chicago’s most beautiful buildings, 333 West Wacker is a post-modern office tower well-known for its distinctive green glass façade that curves along the Chicago River, reflecting the river and the city’s skyline.
Designed by William Pedersen, the iconic building’s curved riverside entrance features massive octagonal support columns sheathed in Vermont Verde serpentine. Verde serpentine and gray granite bands surround the base of the building, allowing the glass tower to seemingly float above the Chicago River. The Verde’s colors appear to shift throughout the day and with changing weather, from deep blue-green on a sunny morning to nearly black on a stormy afternoon.
